NeuronBank is a web-based tool for cataloging, searching, and analyzing neuronal circuitry. The objective of this master's project is to upgrade NeuronBank v1.0, which was built on Sun Studio, to NeuronBank v1.5, which is developed on NetBeans to make use of the new development packages provided by the environment and to fix bugs existing in the old version.

I implemented an Advanced Search module, which allows users to specify multiple searching criteria and get the results from a Protégé knowledge base. Users can then choose to view the details of an individual neuron or to add, delete, or modify neurons. In the process of upgrading, ICEfaces—a new set of JSF control components—is used in the JSF pages.
