Text: Software Engineering: A Practitioner's Approach

Course Content: Techniques used in large-scale scientific or technical software development, including requirements analysis, specification, systems design, implementation, testing, validation, verification, and maintenance. (1998-99 GSU General Catalog, page 376)

Prerequisites: CSc 3410 (formerly CSc 231, Data Structures).
Withdrawals: The last day for regular withdrawal is Friday, October 15.
Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend all classes. Regular completion of all assignments, especially outside reading and the preparation of project materials, is absolutely essential for success in this course.
Course Grades: For CSc 4350 students, the course grade will be derived from: three exams (25%), group project assignments (40%), and a final exam (35%).
For CSc 6350 students, the course grade will be derived from: three exams (25%), group project assignments (40%), and an individual project and associated in-class presentation (35%).
Other Policies: Make-ups or missed deadlines must be coordinated prior to the event and are awarded strictly at the discretion of the instructor.
Although any material submitted for grade normally must be an individual student's own work, collaboration is allowed in this course for the preparation and submission of group projects.
