At present I am working as a CO-Pricipal Investigator on collaborative research project in the field of document coreference resultion techniques, funded by National Science Foundation. My research interest divesified on text mining, natural language processing, information retrieval and visualization, machine intelligence, entity/pattern recognition, recommendation techniques, stochastic implementations and ideas, Bayesian Statistics etc. I am also involved in other colaborative research and recently appointed as industrial mentor for the REU program started by the department of Computer Science at Georgia State University.
In Decmeber 2011 I have earned my doctorate from the department of Computer Science at Georgia State University. I accomplished my doctoral dessertation in the field of text document mining and visualization and my advisor is Dr. Ying Zhu . During my last doctoral years I was a Brain and Behavior fellow and was selected in their spotlight program in March 2011. I also finished my masters from the same department last year. Before getting into Computer Science I have completed a masters in Mathematics and Statistics from here with concentration in Bioinformatics. Back in time I have started my journey of post high school education through Electronics & Communication Engineering and graduated with a Bachelors of Technology from University of Kalyani, India.
In parallel to academics, I keep a deep passion on organizational engagement and leadership. I have served as chair of the ACM chapter, GSU for two years and founded multiple organizations such as IEEE Student brach, CS Club, CRicket Club, Squash Club, where I served as the founder President and in 2011 I was serving as supreme in charge of six such organizations. Carrying such work with desparate enthusiasm, pouring new ideas and changing the shape of the structure brought our ACM chapter Chapter Excellence Award for Outstanding Recruitment Program in 2009-2010, which is one of the five categories ACM recognizes one chapter from all over the world. Due to such effort I also received the ultimate recognition from GSU: Royal Flame Student Leader of the year 2011 along with outstanding service award from the department of Computer Science as well. Looking in the direction of a greater cause I involved myself in ASHA Chapter Atlanta, a non profit organization to change socio ecomomical challenges in India through providing education, and started a chapter in GSU of the same as well.
