Computer science Ph.D. student Rashed Rahman has been invited to make an oral presentation in the Rising Stars Forum at the 17th ACM International Conference on Mobile Systems, Applications, and Services (ACM MobiSys 2019). His presentation, titled “A Novel Receiver Architecture for Ultra-High Speed Visible Light Communication,” will report on work done under the supervision of his Ph.D. advisor, assistant professor Ashwin Ashok.

MobiSys 2019 will be held on June 17–21 in Seoul, South Korea, with the Rising Stars Forum scheduled for June 21. Mr. Rahman’s trip is supported by a travel grant funded by the National Science Foundation. MobiSys is one of four annual international conferences sponsored by ACM SIGMOBILE, the ACM Special Interest Group on Mobility of Systems, Users, Data and Computing. The Rising Stars Forum is a venue for young scholars (including Ph.D. students and recent graduates) to present their latest research work.
