Pan Named TCBB Associate Editor-in-Chief

Dr. Yi Pan has been appointed associate editor-in-chief of IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (TCBB). His responsibilities will include producing special issues on new and emerging topics.

TCBB is a bimonthly peer-reviewed journal that focuses on algorithmic, mathematical, statistical and computational methods that are central to bioinformatics and computational biology. Other topics of interest include the development of bioinformatics programs and biological databases and the publication of important biological results that are obtained from the use of these methods, programs and databases. TCBB also covers the emerging field of systems biology, which involves creating computer-based models of complex biological systems.

TCBB is jointly published by the IEEE Computer Society, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society, and the IEEE Control Systems Society. Dr. Aidong Zhang of the University of Virginia is the journal’s editor-in-chief.

Dr. Pan is a Regents’ Professor and the chair of the Department of Computer Science. Prior to his appointment as associate editor-in-chief of TCBB, Dr. Pan served as an associate editor of the journal for 12 years.
