Biography

Ravishankar Chamarajnagar, Ph.D., is involved in core research for collaborative mobile IoT systems and security at the edge. In addition to his association with GSU, he is driving Internet of Things technologies at VMware and holds multiple patents in the domain. Prior to this, he was instrumental in the success of Airwatch, a startup company that was acquired by VMware. He has made seminal contributions to enterprise architectures and networking systems since 1996. At Novell, he was involved in an early implementation of the Novell Directory Services on Unixware. At Cisco, he made a substantial contribution to the development of application-oriented networking (AON), which changed the networking paradigm from hardware-based infrastructures to software applications, and rode the Internet bubble at Inktomi driving innovations in caching. During his M.S. studies at UT Austin, he focused on network processors and fault tolerance of distributed systems in message-passing systems. On a more personal front, he enjoys playing cricket and tennis and loves classic Hollywood and Bollywood movies.
